Villa Picasso Ko Samui is a five-bedroom, four-bathroom villa on a jungle hillside in Taling Ngam, south-west Koh Samui, built by Stellar Property Global in 2022 and since sold. It is a single-storey, U-shaped house on a 1,716 sqm plot, with sea views, landscaped gardens and an infinity pool. The master suite has a whirlpool bath, and music speakers run through the bedrooms, the garden and the pool. A rooftop lookout and an open-sided sala, a traditional Thai pavilion, look out over the jungle and the sea. Before the sale, guests rated it 9.6 out of 10 on Booking.com across 5 reviews. It is back under our management, and our rental team, ATS Luxury Stays, lists it for holiday stays on Airbnb. It is a different property from Villa Picasso Tulum in Mexico.

Villa Picasso Ko Samui is a five-bedroom villa we built in Taling Ngam, on the south-west coast of Koh Samui. We finished it in 2022 and sold it. It is now back under our management, and our rental team lists it for holiday stays. It is a useful record of what we build when we build to sell: a single-storey house on a jungle hillside, set around an infinity pool with the sea in front.

A quiet hillside in Taling Ngam

The villa sits high on a hillside about 2.3 km from Taling Ngam Beach. The nearest neighbour is about 50 m away. A concrete road runs up to a private double car park.

How the house works

The house is one storey, shaped like a U around the pool terrace. The living and dining room opens fully through sliding glass walls, so inside and outside become one space. The kitchen is a full Western-style kitchen with a breakfast bar.

The master suite has a whirlpool bath, its own seating area and a view of the sea.

The bedrooms are split between the two wings. Three open straight onto the pool terrace and have a soaking tub and a separate shower. Every bedroom and the living room has air conditioning.

The pool you can listen to

The infinity pool looks out over the sea and the islands. We built speakers into the pool itself, so music carries under the water, and put more in every bedroom and the garden.

Above the house there is a rooftop lookout with bean bags. Beside the pool is a sala, an open-sided Thai pavilion, with seating looking out over the jungle and the sea. There is also a covered outdoor lounge and an outdoor gym.

Before the sale, the villa took holiday guests. On Booking.com it scored 9.6 out of 10 across 5 reviews. One guest summed it up in three words: "Designed to perfection." (Guest, Villa Picasso Ko Samui, February 2023)

Since the sale, the villa has come back under our management, and our rental team, ATS Luxury Stays, lists it on Airbnb. The new listing is too recent to have reviews yet.

Built to sell

We built Villa Picasso Ko Samui to sell, and we now manage it again for holiday stays. Either way, the house has to stand up to people living in it as well as to photographs.
